Daddy's Car (Sony CSL / Flow Machines, 2016)
Composed in 2016 by Sony CSL's Flow Machines — and arranged, produced, and given lyrics by French composer Benoît Carré, with research led by François Pachet — “Daddy's Car” is widely regarded as the first full AI-composed pop song. An original work in the style of the Beatles rather than a voice clone, it showed nearly a decade before the current wave that AI could write a genuine pop song. As an early, consent-clean landmark, it enters the inaugural AIMEE Hall of Fame as a recording of lasting significance.
