Suno artist opt-in licensing agreement
Warner Music Group
In November 2025, Warner Music Group and Suno settled their dispute and announced a licensing framework built on artist and songwriter opt-in — meaning WMG artists' and writers' work is used to train and generate only with authorization, not by default. As the first major-label agreement to place consent at the center of AI training, it offered the industry a concrete, scalable template for treating AI as a licensed partner to human artists rather than a threat to them.
