The AIMEE AWARDS

The AIMEE Awards recognize excellence in AI music across 108 awards, organized into eight fields. The fields move from the program's marquee, genre-spanning honors, through the individual genres and the crafts of production and AI innovation, to education, responsibility, honorary recognition, and fully autonomous work. Below is every category and what it recognizes. (For who is eligible and how entries are judged, see Rules & Eligibility.)

General Field
The program's marquee, genre-spanning honors — the biggest awards of the night, open to work in any genre.

Recording of the Year — The single best individual recording of the year, in any genre, celebrated as a complete piece of work. The creators behind the winning track share the award.

Album of the Year — The best full-length album of the year, in any genre, judged as a complete body of work. The creative team behind the album shares the award.

Song of the Year — The best piece of songwriting of the year. This honors the composition itself — the melody, structure, and lyrics — rather than any single recording of it, and goes to the writer or writing team.

Best New AI Creator — A breakthrough creator, artist, or team that broke into public awareness during the year. It rewards an exciting new voice in AI music rather than any one work.

AI Producer of the Year — The producer or production team behind the year's strongest body of work — the people who shape how the music ultimately sounds across many recordings.

Composer / Songwriter of the Year — A writer or composer honored for an outstanding body of songwriting across the year, focused on the writing itself rather than a single song.

Best Human–AI Collaboration — The year's best work that blends meaningful human creativity with AI — for example, a human songwriter or vocalist working hand in hand with AI tools. It exists specifically to spotlight partnership between people and machines.

Education Excellence of the Year — The top cross-cutting honor for education. It may go to any educator, program, researcher, or student whose work this year did the most to teach and advance understanding of AI music — the “best of the best” above the individual Education awards.

Responsibility in AI Music of the Year — The top cross-cutting honor for ethics and responsibility. It may go to any person, project, or organization whose work this year best advanced responsible, fair, and transparent AI music.

Genre Awards
The largest field, spanning 22 genres.

Within each genre, up to three awards are presented, each recognizing something different:

Best [Genre] Song — the songwriting — the melody, structure, and lyrics.

Best [Genre] Performance — a single finished track as you actually hear it — its vocals, instruments, and overall sound.

Best [Genre] Album — a full-length album or comparable body of work, judged as a whole.

The 16 core genres below offer all three awards (Song, Performance, and Album). The six format-driven genres that follow are built around complete works rather than standalone songs, so they offer Performance and Album only.
